Yangtze River Delta's First Newly Built Suburban Railway Opens

On December 27, the Shanghai Airport Connection Line, the first newly constructed suburban railway in the Yangtze River Delta, opened to traffic. Co-built by CR-Shanghai and others, the line connects Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station with Shanghai Pudong International Airport in under 40 minutes.
The operation of this line significantly reduces commute and travel time between Shanghai's two major hubs, Hongqiao and Pudong. It enhances the city's public transportation service levels and operational efficiency while strengthening the connectivity of the Hongqiao and Pudong integrated transport hubs to cities in the Yangtze River Delta region. The project provides robust support for elevating Shanghai's global city status, boosting its core competitiveness, and promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta urban cluster.
